Tim Fung, CEO of Airtasker (ASX:ART) states that the company has completed a $10 million capital raise supported by iHeartMedia, marking a significant step in boosting Airtasker’s US expansion. He highlights that the partnership with iHeartMedia provides access to a vast American media network, including over 800 broadcasting stations and a dominant podcast network, substantially enhancing the Airtasker brand presence in the United States.

Fung says Airtasker’s business model addresses a global need by enabling people to earn income from their skills, especially as AI automation disrupts traditional jobs. He notes AI’s role within Airtasker, pointing to its use in protecting the community from scams, assisting users in posting and describing tasks, and enhancing customer service through Zendesk AI. However, Fung remains cautious, suggesting current AI applications are sometimes overstated and results are still emerging.

Financially, Fung indicates that Airtasker is generating approximately $35 million of annual cash in Australia, funding international growth initiatives in the US and UK. He reports a 136% growth rate in these markets, with $28 million gross marketplace volume, and outlines plans for accelerated growth in the Northern Hemisphere’s high season as the main catalyst for future share price momentum.
