Archer Materials (ASX: AXE) CTO Simon Ruffell explains how the company uses carbon to gain an edge in semiconductors used in quantum devices, and biochips for monitoring and sensing disease.
Simon explains how the company plans to use its carbon-based technology to tap into some of the globe's biggest megatrends including sustainability, and an ageing population. Simon points to Archer's biochip which he says has the potential to revolutionise healthcare, offering faster disease testing.
Archer has several ongoing collaborations, including one with RMIT University. Simon says the company aims to continue to develop such partnerships, including with academic institutions such as MIT.
With a $2.1 million R&D tax incentive rebate and an initial order on the books for its TMR sensor protoype, Simon is confident the path to commercialisation is on track.
Listen for what Simon and the Archer team plans to achieve over the coming year.
