Company Interview10 Apr, 2025

Tony Dragicevich, CEO of Capral (ASX:CAA) discusses his response to global tariff shifts, particularly U.S. tariffs on aluminium, saying Capral (ASX:CAA) is reaffirming its focus on the Australian market and local manufacturing.

He remains concerned about international trade impacts—especially the potential redirection of low-cost aluminium from China and Southeast Asia to Australia. Capral (ASX:CAA) supports Australia’s anti-dumping regime, which helps protect local industry from unfair competition. The company has been in discussions with the government to ensure these protections remain in place, especially as duties are up for renewal.

Tony also discussed the importance of sustaining existing industries rather than attempting to revive those already lost. Capral (ASX:CAA), which supplies major Australian manufacturers, struggles to compete internationally due to lower labor costs abroad but excels locally due to fast turnaround times. The company has joined the Australian Made campaign to promote trust, quality, and national manufacturing pride.
