Centuria Capital eyeing AI opportunities after profit beat

Company Interview20 Aug, 2025

Key Takeaways:

Operating profit up 6.5% with property and development finance contributing $27 million Agricultural and credit divisions now significant drivers of earnings growth FY26 forecast includes 10% earnings growth and anticipated doubling of real estate transactions Centuria’s AI focus through Reset Data positions it as a key partner with Nvidia for sovereign data centres in Australia

Centuria Capital Group (ASX: CNI) has reported strong financial results, with John McBain highlighting a 6.5% lift in operating profit driven by stable property fund management and notable growth in property and development finance, which delivered $27 million. McBain points to the firm's agricultural investments, specifically Centuria’s $600 million agriculture fund, as a key differentiator. The credit division, which was non-existent three years ago, now significantly boosts earnings. Looking forward, McBain sees FY26 as a year with much higher transaction activity, forecasting a 10% rise in earnings and expecting real estate transactions to double to at least $1 billion.

McBain anticipates that declining deposit and fixed interest rates will make yield more valuable, benefiting real estate investments. With the anticipated scarcity of yield, Centuria’s diversified streams—including agriculture and credit—are set to underpin growth. Recurring income from these divisions is complemented by a recovering real estate market, and McBain expects continued earnings per share growth, supported by robust transaction capacity.

A notable innovation is Centuria’s partnership with Nvidia and investment in Reset Data, which operates a sovereign, liquid-cooled AI data centre housed in Sydney. According to McBain, Centuria is now a cloud partner with Nvidia, offering a unique Australian-owned platform for AI inferencing and training—an area set for rapid growth in Australia as demand from universities and financial institutions rises.
