Simon Finnis of McLaren Minerals (ASX:MML) discusses a recent $1.3 million capital raise, aimed at advancing their McLaren project, a mineral sands deposit located 350km from the Port of Esperance. This includes finalising pre-feasibility studies and updating mineral resources.

Simon states that the project focuses on ilmenite, a key component in producing titanium dioxide used in paints, paper, and plastics. Despite its remote location, he highlights its strong demand, particularly from Asian markets, viewing this as an opportunity for growth.

Simon outlines the project's timeline, aiming to conclude the pre-feasibility study soon, followed by a bankable feasibility phase lasting up to 16 months. The process involves setting up infrastructure due to the remote site, with expectations of further capital raises as the project progresses.
