EVX charging towards the future

Company Interview13 Dec, 2024

Andrew Forster from EVX shares insights on the company's ambitious rollout of EV charging infrastructure across Australia. With 17 new sites in Sydney, EV X sets a long-term goal of deploying 1,000 charging points within 24 months, aiming for 300-400 by next year.

Andrew notes a surge in demand for EV chargers, initially expecting 3-5% utilisation, but now seeing up to 40% at some locations. The company plans to expand with support from the NSW state government's curbside grants program to meet this increasing demand.

EVX tackles range anxiety, particularly in regions with vast spaces, by enhancing visible charging infrastructure. Manufacturing charge points in Sydney, Andrew emphasises that pole-mounted installations are the quickest and most cost-effective solution currently. Supported by private funding and state aid, EVX is confident of achieving self-sustaining operations soon.
