Seán Halpin of SciDev presents a positive outlook on the company’s recent achievements, citing the award of a contract for the design and construction of a groundwater treatment plant as a milestone. The contract is part of the Department of Mining and Energy’s Rum Jungle Rehabilitation project in the Northern Territory, signalling a significant leap for SciDev (ASX:SDV) in both scale and market presence. Halpin says that this deal, awarded by contractor McMahon Services Australia, has been in the works for several years and positions SciDev as a capable provider of large-scale water technology solutions.

Halpin says the new $20 million contract far exceeds the company’s previous largest project worth $4.8 million. He describes the Northern Territory as a growth frontier, emphasising that local recruitment will be project-specific without a major scale-up of resources. According to Halpin, SciDev’s technology is also being utilised for PFAS treatment and a mix of reactive, emergency, and larger water remediation projects across different commercial models.

SciDev recently appointed Todd Scott as CFO, with Halpin noting a positive early impact. Halpin affirms the company remains financially strong, is well-capitalised, and is on track to meet revenue guidance for the year.
