Osmond Resources (ASX:OSM) is advancing its Orion Critical Minerals project in southern Spain, with Anthony Hall highlighting significant progress for the company. Hall sets out a clear vision targeting rutile, zircon, and rare earths, noting that zircon and rare earths have yet to be extracted within the European Union, creating an exciting opportunity for the region. The Orion project, covering 230km², holds a high-grade resource, confirmed by historical data and new bulk sample results. According to Hall, average rutile grades of 14% from the bulk samples are substantially higher than leading global in-situ projects, positioning Orion as a potential leader in mineral extraction.

Hall points out the favourable deposit formation, which should allow for straightforward drilling and a quick mineral resource estimate. Extensive metallurgical test work is already underway, and Hall expects a scoping study to be completed with current funds, as drilling costs remain manageable. The recent decision by the Spanish Senate to accelerate critical minerals projects provides additional momentum. Hall sees the Orion asset as a chance for Europe to in-source essential minerals and fast-track development with the right local expertise.

Osmond Resources also maintains a project in South Australia focused on uranium, base metals, and platinum. Hall states the company is exploring partnership options for this site, but Spain remains the primary focus due to the scale of the opportunity.
