The local market is poised to open higher, with ASX futures up 1%.On Wall Street, major indices posted their biggest gains in over two months. Tech stocks led the recovery, with Nvidia, Meta, Alphabet, and Netflix among the top performers. Tesla also gained after awarding CEO Elon Musk 96 million shares worth around $29 billion.Geopolitical tensions flared as US President Trump warned he will substantially raise tariffs on goods from India because it continues to purchase Russian oil, while India has said it will take measures to safeguard its interests and called its targeting by the US president "unjustified."Oil prices have fallen to their lowest levels in a week after OPEC+ agreed to another large output increase in September, adding to oversupply concerns. Brent crude futures fell 1.3% to $68 a barrel. Gold rose for a third straight session after last week's US jobs data fueled expectations of interest rate cuts by the Federal Reserve.The Australian dollar is trading at US64.65 cents.Ahead today, data on household spending and job ads are scheduled with the S&P Global PMI. Credit Corp and Pinnacle Investment Management both issue earnings results.
