Monadelphous (ASX:MND) Group announced the award of a major construction contract with BHP associated with the Port Debottlenecking Project 2, located at BHP's Nelson Point Port Facility in Port Hedland, Western Australia. The contract, valued at around $200 million, is for the installation and commissioning of all structural, mechanical, piping, electrical and instrumentation activities associated with the construction of the new Car Dumper 6 and its supporting materials handling facilities. Work will commence immediately and is expected to be completed in 2028.
Monadelphous Managing Director Zoran Bebic said the contract award reflects the company's strong customer value proposition, built on long-term customer relationships and a proven track record of delivery, and that Monadelphous looks forward to working closely with BHP to successfully deliver the project and increase port capacity.
